When we got to the basement, we could see where water had been coming through the stone and concrete walls for some time. We set up a commercial dehumidifier to start pulling moisture out of the air right away. Large areas of the lower walls were wet and discolored. We wrapped all the homeowner’s belongings in plastic sheeting to protect them during the work. The open ceiling joists and exposed pipes meant we needed to treat every surface from floor to ceiling.
